Okay, so Trump's back at it again, huh? Spouting off about some "economic miracle" he supposedly delivered. Give me a break. The guy's got a memory like a goldfish, or maybe he just thinks we do.
The Numbers Game
Less than 40% of voters in freakin' New Jersey, New York City, and California think the economy is doing "excellent" or even "good." But over in Virginia, suddenly it's sunshine and roses with 58% feeling chipper about the economy? What gives? Are Virginians just easier to please? Or is something else going on here?
Trump's out there touting job numbers and a "surging stock market." He even admits that "a lot of people don't see that." Ya think, Donny? Maybe because those "facts" don't exactly translate to lower grocery bills or affordable housing. People aren't spreadsheets, last time I checked.
This is the problem with politicians in general, not just Trump. They think they can just throw numbers at us and expect us to swallow it whole. It’s like they're trying to gaslight the entire country. "Look at these stats! Everything's great! You're just imagining the pain!"
The Reality Distortion Field
He says it's "easy to win elections when you talk about the facts." But what if the "facts" don't match reality? What if people are struggling to make ends meet, even if the GDP is supposedly through the roof? Then what? Are they just supposed to ignore their empty bank accounts and cheer for the stock market?

I mean, come on. This ain't rocket science. People vote with their wallets, not with some abstract economic indicator. If they feel like they're getting screwed, they're gonna vote like they're getting screwed. End of story.
And honestly, it's not just about the economy. It's about trust. Do people trust Trump? Do they trust any politician, for that matter? I'm starting to think the answer is a resounding "hell no."
You see, this is the problem. People don't trust the so-called "experts" anymore. They see the disconnect between what's being said on TV and what they're experiencing in their own lives. And they're not stupid. They know when they're being lied to.
Offcourse, maybe I'm just being cynical. Maybe there really is an "economic miracle" happening, and I'm just too jaded to see it. Then again, maybe I should just move to Virginia where everyone's apparently living the high life.
So, What's the Real Story?
Look, Trump's gonna Trump. He's gonna spin everything to make himself look good, even if it means bending the truth (or outright breaking it). Voters on Tuesday rewarded Democrats who addressed economic costs. Hours later, Trump said he delivered an 'economic miracle.' The real question is, are we gonna keep falling for it? Are we gonna let ourselves be gaslighted by politicians and their "facts?" Or are we gonna start demanding some goddamn honesty for a change? Because frankly, I'm tired of this BS.
